Job Details

Our firm is seeking a dynamic and experienced Word Processor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional word processing and transcription services, maintaining and editing legal documents, and ensuring that all documents are produced to the highest standard. This is a full-time position, with working hours from 12-8 PM. Some flexibility on the hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Word processing: The successful candidate will be responsible for processing legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and memoranda. You must have excellent typing skills, grammar, and punctuation, and be able to produce accurate and high-quality documents in a timely manner.
  • Transcription: You will be responsible for transcribing audio and video recordings of legal proceedings, including depositions, hearings, and trials. You must have excellent listening skills, attention to detail, and the ability to accurately transcribe legal terminology.
  • Edit and maintain documents: You will be responsible for editing and maintaining legal documents, ensuring that they are up to date and accurate. This includes checking for accuracy, correcting errors, and ensuring that all documents are properly formatted.
  • Table of Contents: You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a table of contents for all legal documents. This includes ensuring that all sections are properly labeled and that the table of contents is accurate and up to date.
  • iManage and DocX: You must have experience with iManage and DocX, as these are the software programs that we use to manage and store our legal documents. You will be responsible for uploading and downloading documents, as well as ensuring that all documents are properly stored and organized.
  • Redlines and track changes: You will be responsible for making redlines and track changes to legal documents, ensuring that all changes are properly marked and tracked.
  • Document production: You will be responsible for producing legal documents, including formatting, proofreading, and ensuring that all documents are properly formatted and ready for submission.
  • Template formatting: You will be responsible for creating and maintaining templates for legal documents, ensuring that all documents are consistent and of the highest quality.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in word processing, transcription, and document production is required.
  • Excellent typing skills, grammar, and punctuation are required.
  • Experience with iManage and DocX is required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
  • A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
