Job Summary:
At Home Services For Independent Living is seeking a compassionate and reliable male companion to provide care and companionship to an elderly gentleman in Southold, New York. This is a part-time, hourly companion care position, with a compensation rate of $20 per hour. The position is available 4 Hours per day 2 days a week, hours and days are flexible.
Compensation & Benefits:
The chosen candidate will receive a competitive compensation rate of $20 per hour, with payment made on a weekly basis. In addition, the individual will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the life of the elderly gentleman and gain valuable experience in the healthcare/medical field.
Responsibilities:
Provide companionship and emotional support to the elderly gentleman and engage in meaningful conversations.
Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping.
Accompany the client on walks or local outings, as needed.
Monitor the client's condition and report any changes to the hiring supervisor.
Provide transportation to local appointments, if needed. (Gas is compensated)
Maintain a safe and clean environment for the client.
Follow the individual care plan provided by the hiring supervisor.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with elderly individuals preferred.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
Ability to pass a background check.
