About Us: We are working with a FTSE 30 manufacturing/retail business who operate in 53 countries globally, they own world renowned brands.

Job Description: Our client are looking for a Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support and guidance to our business units in North America. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, mitigate legal risks, and contribute to the achievement of business objectives through strategic legal advice.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of issues, including marketing, advertising, food laws and product claims/withdrawals.
Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents and agreements, ensuring the company's interests are protected.
Advise on potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring proactive management of legal issues.
Represent the company in legal proceedings, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation as necessary.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the state bar and in good standing (Illnois/New York/California).
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably with a focus on retail/food law.
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations relevant to the food and retail industry.
Proven experience in managing complex legal issues and providing strategic legal advice.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
High ethical standards and a commitment to integrity and compliance.
