About the Opportunity:

Part-Time Art Handler, NY | $30 - 35 p/h

David Zwirner seeks a Part-Time Art Handler. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience art handling in a gallery, museum, professional artist studio, fine art trucking company, or auction house setting. Positive attitude and a strong work ethic are essential. Gallery hours are generally 10am to 6pm between Monday - Saturday.

What you'll do:
  • Provide installation support for gallery viewings and exhibitions.
  • Pack artworks for shipment and storage safely and according to fine art industry standards.
  • Unpack/pack artworks for Registration team to conduct condition checks according to the daily schedule.
  • Assist with packing and installation of artworks for regional fairs and exhibitions.
  • Perform local deliveries and off-site installations for clients.
  • Maintain art handling shop and related art storage to gallery's standards.

What we would like you to have:
  • Knowledge of safe and proper handling, packing, and storage procedures for a variety of media.
  • Working knowledge of power tools and the ability to use them safely and skillfully.
  • Detail-oriented, communicative, and extremely organized.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to physically bend, kneel, push, pull, lift 30 pounds or more, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Working knowledge of Macintosh OS, as well as familiarity with art database systems.
