Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Hospice of the Piedmont is seeking a dedicated and dynamic part-time Development and Fundraising Associate to join our team. As the Development and Marketing Associate, you will play a key role in our organization by handling essential Development functions such as gift processing, gift acknowledgements, and assisting with direct mail solicitations. Additionally, you will provide administrative support to both the Development and Marketing teams, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Gift Processing and Donor Acknowledgement

  • Generate and send all gift acknowledgement letters and receipts promptly.
  • Prepare and mail tribute lists of memorial gifts.
  • Provide excellent customer service by resolving donor questions, taking phone donations, and assisting donors on-site.
Database Support
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all donor database aspects.
  • Update constituent biographical information and manage returned mail.
Donor Stewardship
  • Assist with writing personal, handwritten notes to donors.
  • Respond promptly to donor needs, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Phone and General Office Support
  • Answer phone calls and respond to general development email inquiries.
  • Scan, digitize, and file documents as necessary.
  • Maintain donor files and order printed materials.
  • Schedule meetings for Marketing and Development teams as needed.
Events and Communications Support
  • Assist in planning and executing development and marketing events.
  • Prepare materials for meetings and events, and attend events as required.
Marketing and Communications
  • Support the Marketing team with social media monitoring, updating media contacts, and tracking media placements.
  • Assist in developing internal communications and staff updates.
Budget Tracking
  • Maintain department budget documentation and provide monthly reconciliation reports.
Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in a professional Development Office with similar duties and responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in donor research and experience with Raiser's Edge or other CRM software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive computer literacy, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
