The Role:
This position requires advanced knowledge and skills for commercial solar construction and installation, maintenance and troubleshooting. Responsible for installing and servicing commercial solar electrical systems, observing company safety guidelines, documenting each project, updating client records, providing material cost and time estimates, and training apprentices. Diagnose electrical faults and provide excellent customer service. To be successful as a master electrician of commercial solar installations, you should be able to read blueprints, use diagnostic tools, and make decisions under pressure. Outstanding master electricians have sound knowledge of their craft and the ability to transfer this knowledge and skills to apprentices.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively lead all commercial solar installations to completion.
- Be able to build commercial roof and ground Solar Arrays efficiently.
- Install micro inverter systems and string inverter systems and Install energy storage systems
- Comprehend commercial solar permit plans
- Ability to make field modifications to installations where plans designs are not viable.
- Install, maintain and repair commercial solar energy systems
- Troubleshoot problems and resolve known issues in a timely and profitable manner
- Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints and maps
- Progressively learn electrical systems and troubleshooting electrical issues
- Complete documentation related to installations
- Responsible for running a truck and managing a crew as well as caring for all associated equipment and tools.
- Work with management to ensure technicians and contractors are trained, have the correct tools, and knowledge to complete quality work.
- Interpret and work from electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams. Code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations. Fabricate, install and/or run conduit, 3-Phase work, and motor terminations. Control and instrument troubleshooting and panel work.
- Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
- Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors.
- Test and install electrical motors, generators, and pneumatic electrical control systems Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices.
- Install electrical circuits and equipment including panels, conduit. Protective devices. switches, and related equipment as required.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Texas Master Electrician License
- 5 years of experience in renewables
- Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test 1000 volt and below electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances.
- Drive's license
