Director of Nursing - DON - Registered Nurse - RN Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and currently licensed as an RN Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
Two years Director of Nursing - DON experience.
Two years of Long-Term Care experience.

Director of Nursing - DON - Registered Nurse - RN Job Introduction:

The Director of Nursing DON plans, organizes, develops and directs the overall operation of the Nursing department.

Director of Nursing - DON - Registered Nurse - RN Job Summary:

Responsible for the development of nursing objectives and performance standards.
Responsible for nursing service compliance to federal, state and local regulations.
Direct, evaluate and supervise all resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary.
Assess resident care needs and assist in the development of individualized care plans.
Report problems to Administrator, Medical Director and conduct daily resident rounds.
Direct and supervise scheduling of employees.
Assist in recruiting, counseling interviews and disciplinary action as necessary.
Direct and implement nursing service educational programs.
Participate in the planning and implementation of the nursing service budget.
Direct allocation of nursing service equipment and supplies.
Take inquiries for resident placement as assigned by the Admissions Office.
Coordinate resident admissions, transfers and discharges.
Assess resident medication response and treatment and make recommendations.
