The Las Olas Network is assisting a long-standing client in the identification of a new Financial Analyst to join their dynamic Finance department. The role is remote but the candidate must be located in the Tampa Bay area to participate in reoccurring in-person meetings/events. Occasional travel may be required to the home office in South Florida.
About the Role - We are looking for a Financial Analyst to produce weekly/monthly reporting and maintain the back-end data, perform in-depth analysis on commissions data, and support forecasting/budgeting/modeling. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and have excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
What You ll be Doing
- Analyze commission statements and data, identify trends/inconsistencies, pull insights and summarize into reports that can be used for further research, tracking, and forecasting future payments
- Maintain logic and refresh data for monthly reporting
- Organize policy and commission data into presentation ready reports
- Perform analysis using company s key metrics and create tracking/reporting where needed
- Support all financial functions such as Treasury, credit facility compliance and reporting, loan covenants
- Support weekly and month-end reporting
- Serves as subject matter expert in the particular policy/commission data you may own
- Support finance leadership on financial analysis, ad-hoc projects, etc.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong work ethic and passion to continuously improve processes
- Attention to detail and organized
- Good time management skills, ability to prioritize multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, self-directed environment
- Perform analysis on and manipulate large datasets
- Must know basic SQL
- Ability to identify and research payment data, errors, incorrect sales information, etc.
- Understanding of basic accounting concepts
- Communication skills and building relationships with other departments and external vendors/carriers
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- 1-2 years of financial/accounting (or related equivalent) experience
- Proficient in MS Excel
- Willing to learn the health insurance industry
- Some data analytics background preferred but not required
