Job Details

The Memphis Zoo is seeking outgoing, energetic people to join the new Splash Park team. Park Attendants are the dynamic faces of our state-of-the-art, fun-filled attraction and will combine stellar customer service with guest safety to ensure that our guests experience an amazingly wild zoo adventure.

Responsible for guest engagement and enjoyment to further our mission of "Creating adventures. Saving wildlife."
Responsible for the safety of guests and monitoring equipment in assigned area
Must be able to multi-task with focus
Assist team members prepare for each session opening and closing
Must be able to follow directions and communicate effectively during any adverse event
Must be able to work in an out-door environment
Must demonstrate the desire for professional growth through job performance, training and initiative

1st shift: 9:00a.m.- 1:30 p.m.
2nd shift: 1:30p.m- 6:00pm

Splash Park Hours of Operation: 9:30AM- 5:30PM (CLOSED 1:00PM-2:00PM).
1st session: 9:30AM- 1:00PM
2nd session: 2:00PM-5:30PM

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.
  • Must be at least 18 years or older.


Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, hear, use hand signals, and whistle blowing. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Expected Hours of Work: Schedules may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays, and may provide up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week.
