Description

Checks order forms for proper coding of quantities requested and authorized approvals. Ensures that deliveries are made to proper departments. Also monitors food temperature during working hours. Marks items with identification codes and dates to prevent waste. Contacts established vendors for routine supplies. May drive a forklift to stock and deliver supplies. May need to assist with price analysis.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitors inventory levels; prepares purchase orders when stock items reach reorder point.
  • Examines received items to verify conformance with specifications and purchase orders.
  • Marks items with identification codes.
  • Maintains records of items issued and received.
  • Reports on spoilage and stock damage.
  • Provides guidance to lower level stock clerks.
Requirements
  • In good health and have good eyesight.
  • Able to lift items weight up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to certify to drive a cart, operate a forklift, and any other equipment to perform duties.
  • Capable of a full range of body movements.
  • Able to speak, read, and write in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or the equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
