About the Role

The purchasing specialist's responsibilities include sourcing new suppliers, ensuring that the purchased products and materials meet specific technical specifications, negotiating purchase terms, and evaluating supplier performance. The purchasing specialist will also be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries and resolving any supply issues or discrepancies.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Researching and identifying prospective suppliers.
  • Liaising with internal customers and project teams and maintaining strong supplier relations.
  • Management of vendors in SAP Finance including client setup, parameter setting, and billing accuracy
  • Evaluating products and suppliers according to key criteria.
  • Preparing proposals, requesting quotes, and negotiating purchase terms and conditions.
  • Preparing and issuing purchase orders and agreements.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and resolving issues and concerns.
  • Inspecting and evaluating the quality of purchased items and resolving shortcomings.
  • Preparing reports and maintaining accurate inventory and procurement records.
  • Complying with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintaining lines of communication with internal customers and provide updates as requested for requested items.
  • Other relevant items as directed by Purchasing Manager


Required Skills & Abilities

  • 2 years of experience as a purchasing specialist or in a similar role.
  • Associate degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a similar field is a plus.
  • Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing, and resource planning systems.
  • Proficient at building reports and Key Performance Indicators using MS Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Team player with strong organizational skills.
  • SAP Finance experience is plus
