Job Title: MSP Provisioning IT Specialist

Location: Richardson, TX

Salary: $40k-45k

General Summary:

An MSP Provisioning IT Specialist is responsible for preparing Microsoft Windows and Mac OSX workstations and laptops for deployment to clients. This role requires following established procedures, managing work requests, and installing devices on-site.

A Managed Service Provider (MSP) offers businesses a variety of IT services on a subscription basis. These services include network and infrastructure management, cybersecurity, data backup and recovery, help desk support, software management, cloud services, and compliance. By outsourcing these services, businesses can reduce costs, gain specialized expertise, focus on core activities, scale IT services with growth, and benefit from proactive maintenance and enhanced security.

This position involves direct interaction with clients in person, over the phone, and via email. The ideal candidate must possess strong communication skills, be comfortable engaging with clients, answering questions, addressing concerns, and collaboratively resolving issues with support from team members.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance tasks, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance.
  • Prepare new systems for deployment, coordinate installations with end-users, and update inventory systems to reflect the current status of each system.
  • Respond to assigned work orders and maintain accurate and timely documentation of progress in the work order database.
  • Promote the creation of knowledge base entries that can be utilized by customers and IT team members.
  • Support projects both onsite and offsite, occasionally working after normal business hours.
  • Communicate issues, critical problems, and situations to appropriate management levels.
  • Maintain open communication with clients to better understand their technology requirements and issues.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of IT professionals.
  • Drive to and from client locations to perform installations and deliver equipment.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Additional Duties:
  • Enhance customer service, perception, and satisfaction.
  • Ensure timely turnaround of customer requests.
  • Work effectively within a team and communicate efficiently.
  • Escalate service requests that require upper-level administrator or engineer support.
  • Enter time and expenses in ConnectWise as they occur.
  • Complete assigned training materials and blueprints on ConnectWise University to understand ConnectWise processes.
  • Enter all work as service/project tickets into ConnectWise for billing.
  • Participate in onsite projects requiring local travel to customers in the DFW area. Work evenings and weekends as needed for after-hours implementations and client support.
  • Provide technical leadership to junior team members.
  • Perform any additional assigned duties to meet the needs of the organization, including tasks within the employee's capacity to deliver.

This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth deployment and maintenance of client IT systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's service delivery.
