Cashier
Lafayette Ace Hardware is seeking reliable and customer-oriented individuals to join our team as Cashiers. As the first point of contact for our customers, Cashiers play a crucial role in providing a positive shopping experience. The primary responsibilities include processing transactions accurately and efficiently, providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers as they enter the store and thank them for their business upon exit
- Scan and ring up merchandise, ensuring accuracy in pricing and quantities
- Process cash, credit card, and other forms of payment in compliance with company policies
- Assist customers with product inquiries, locating items, and general store information
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area
- Follow proper procedures for handling returns, exchanges, and refunds
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations
- Uphold company standards for customer service excellence
Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail experience preferred, but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math proficiency
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks

Compensation: $16.50 - $17.00/HR
