Staff Accountant


Job Details

Our esteemed client in Allendale, New Jersey is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with 4+ years of professional experience to join their dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and supporting various accounting functions to ensure the smooth operation of our finance department.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of journal entries.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Generate and analyze financial reports for management review
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and manage payment schedules.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
  • Analyze variances between actual results and budgeted figures
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis
  • Prepare documentation and support internal and external audit processes
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements and address audit findings
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of accounting procedures.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records for financial transactions.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in accounting or related field.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets and financial models.
  • Familiarity with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
