We are currently looking for a Full Time Office Assistant to join our Tribal Commercial Health Medical Office SU1 team located at the Sovereign Family Practice Clinic - Ada working .

Summary:
Collect and input accurate patient information, providing professional customer service to all callers and patients in the clinic. Maintain a high level of privacy to protect all health information as it relates to all patients and potential patients.

* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
* Maintains files, logs, and records
* Routes, logs, prepares and/or distributes incoming and outgoing mail
* Assists with the composition and preparation of routine correspondence, drafts, and narratives
* Maintains spreadsheets and databases and inputs data entry
* Sends and receives faxes
* Answers the phone, transfers calls, takes messages and screens calls per guidelines for areas served
* Makes appointment reminder calls
* Scans documents into software
* Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of data and information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
* May require to be cross trained in multiple areas as assigned
* Handles financial information and entering payment information
* Compiles, processes, and maintains medical records of patients in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal and regulatory requirements and performed in accordance with policy and procedure
* Assists patients in scheduling appointments
* Facilitates the check-in and check-out process with the patient
* Greets persons entering the building and directs individuals to correct destination
* Covers the reception area at all times
* Explains the program to beneficiaries
* Collects and verifies third party Medicare, Medicaid and or Private insurance and obtains appropriate authorization signatures
* Performs all other duties as assigned
