You'll be responsible for:
  • Working alongside a crew maintaining a safe, clean and fun environment for the many user groups and park goers.
  • Renovating sports fields and providing the city with some of the nicest playing fields around.
  • Operating heavy to small equipment to provide top notch service for our residents.
  • Positive engagements with the public in our parks to maintain a great family environment!
  • Pruning, planting and trimming of shrubs/trees along with the maintenance of park amenities to provide a safe and fun place for everyone.
  • Maintaining tools and equipment that are provided to you, to maximize your full potential and efforts.
  • Maintaining trails and trail amenities.

You'll be responsible for:
  • Using power and hand tools.
  • Performing custodial work which may include sweeping, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms including stocking restrooms with supplies.
  • Channeling your inner Picasso by painting interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Performing plumbing and minor electrical repair.
  • Striping/refinishing floors and cleaning carpets.
  • Repairing locks and performing minor carpentry and metal work.
  • Using aerial towers and bucket trucks. We hope you're not afraid of heights.
  • Assisting in setting up, breaking down, and general maintenance for City sponsored events.

ARE YOU QUALIFIED

Education and/or Experience:
Graduation from high school or equivalent and one year of experience in construction or maintenance work or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of methods, common tools and equipment used in public works construction and maintenance work, basic safety precautions and procedures. Ability to perform skilled and unskilled maintenance work; operate and perform routine maintenance and servicing of a variety of power-driven equipment and power tools; understand and follow verbal and written instructions; work safely and efficiently with others and assist in the training of less experienced workers; deal tactfully with the public.

Special Requirements:
Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
