Research Scientist, Cell Based Assays - Contract - Wilmington DE
Proclinical is seeking a dedicated and independent individual to join a team as a Research Scientist for Cell Based Assays.
Primary Responsibilities:
This role is pivotal in cancer drug discovery programs, where you will be performing in-vitro studies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cancer biology and molecular and cellular biology techniques. Experience with oncogenic signaling pathways and targeted therapies will be beneficial. The successful candidate will work closely with their supervisor to design and execute a research plan to answer critical questions about compounds and targets.
Skills & Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular/Cell Biology or another related field.
- Hands-on experience in cell culture and cell-based assays for compound screening.
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including Western Blotting, ELISA, HTRF, MSD, and CTG.
- Desirable but not required: experience in ex-vivo culture of human cells, immune cell separation using magnetic beads, flow cytometry, gene-editing techniques (RNAi, CRISPR), and RT-qPCR.
The Research Scientist, Cell Based Assays' responsibilities will be:
- Execute and interpret cell-based assays for small and large molecule discovery.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, evaluate data, prepare reports and presentations for internal meetings in a timely manner.
- Review relevant scientific literature to build protocols using resources such as Pubmed.
- Collaborate with other functional groups within drug discovery to achieve shared goals.
- Show flexibility to acquire additional competencies and skillsets as needed.
- Demonstrate high independence and organization, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
