Temporary Food Service Associate - Summer Food Service Program


Job Details

The New Hampshire Food Bank is seeking a temporary Food Service Associate for our Summer Food Service Program at White Mountain Regional High School. Responsibilities include reporting each morning to the supervisor, completing tasks to prepare summer meals, dishwashing, and cleaning work areas. The role involves using food production techniques that conserve nutrients, preserve flavor, and enhance appearance. In this role you get to make a difference by ensuring children in need continue to receive safe and nutritious meals during the summer.

Job Responsibilities:

Wash, peel, and cut various foods, such as fruits and vegetables, to prepare for cooking or serving.

Take and record the temperature of food and food storage areas, such as refrigerators and freezers.

Keep records of the quantities of food used.

Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers.

Inform supervisors when equipment is not working properly and when food and supplies are getting low, and order needed items.

Help maintain accurate records of food produced and sent out each day to SFSP sites.

Requirements

Interest in working with a dynamic team to alleviate hunger and poverty.

Background in the food industry, food service, or a strong interest in cooking and preparing food is helpful.

Ability to lift 20 pounds.

Flexible in completing different tasks, assignments, and adhering to changes in schedule if necessary.

Ability to travel for meal distribution in a personal vehicle and receive travel reimbursement (specific to personal interest in this role).

Time Commitment:

4-5 hours per day, 5 days per week.

Training:

SFSP Orientation and training, ServSafe Training provided.
