Creative Dining Services is looking for one full-time and one part-time Front Desk Clerk at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI.
* $300 full-time & $150 part-time New Hire Bonus *
Overview
The Front Desk Clerk performs all aspects of customer service for hotel guests and provides administrative support.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Greets and registers guests
- Acts as concierge for all hotel and conference guests
- Answers phone to take reservations, cancellations and provide general information
- Performs general administrative tasks as assigned
- Navigates POS system
- Counts cash and reconciles credit card payments
- All other duties as assigned
- For those working in a lead role, additional duties include:
- Provide leadership and instruction; Keep management apprised of overall operations;
- Refer and provide information to higher level manager/supervisor regarding issues or concerns; and perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands/Work Environment The Front Desk Clerk position involves working in a hotel/office environment with responsibility to operate standard office equipment and reservation technology. May require extended working hours at times.

Education - Skills - Expectations - High School graduate or equivalent preferred; post-secondary education helpful
- Proficiency in MS and/or Google Office and the ability to learn new programs
- Basic reading, writing and math skills
- Knowledge and ability to operate cash register and various payment forms
- Previous experience in a customer service or hotel job preferred, but not required
Must possess a positive, can-do attitude, be detail-oriented, and possess a well-rounded knowledge of the food service industry. Must maintain professionalism at all times, and work with others in a cooperative manner, even while working under pressure. Willing to engage actively in the physical work of a high-quality hospitality service operation.
