Job Overview:
This Registered Nurse 2 is a full-time position with the Carter County Health Department ( 403 E G St, Elizabethton, TN 37643) that includes insurance and many other great benefits. Normal work schedule is 8:00a.m.- 4:30p.m., Monday Friday. This nurse will function under public health nursing protocol to provide clinical services as assigned from prenatal throughout the lifespan.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide program specific services such as:
Primary Care
Family Planning including pregnancy testing and emergency contraceptive services
Communicable Disease testing (STD, HIV, Hepatitis C, Syphilis and TB risk assessment)
Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) including nutrition education
Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention Program
Emergency Response Preparedness including assisting in various PODS (Point of Dispensing Sites) and other services as needed
Performing patient intake procedures such as medical history, labs, vital signs, obtaining patient s chief complaint/presenting illness
Assuring completion of health history questionnaire
Documenting drug allergies or other medical alert information
Completing immunization assessment and administering appropriate vaccines
Performing phlebotomy, in-house POC lab procedures, performing EKG s
Dispensing medications from in house drug room
Assisting with diagnostic and specialty referrals
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or holds a privilege to practice in the State of Tennessee under the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
A valid motor vehicle operator license may be required.
Salary:
$4,450.00 monthly
