Category Transportation Distribution and Logistics Job Type Full-time Education Professional or Trade Certification Travel None Security Clearance Required Secret POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS): A Truck Driver at the HWSTF will pick up bulk and non-bulk hazardous waste at satellite areas on NAWS China Lake and will maintain the HWSTF itself, focusing on proper storage of hazardous waste and housekeeping of the facility. They will be required to provide office support including but not limited to, data entry into HWSTF database, facility, and satellite collection area inspections, and facilitating customer orders for Contract-provided services.
**Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):**
1. Complete hazardous waste pick-ups at customer and satellite sites
2. Properly store hazardous waste when received from the customer
3. Assist with supply and materials inventory
4. Participate in all HW training
5. Assist with daily and weekly inspections of HWSTF facility and satellite collection areas
6. Assist with Navy and regulatory agency inspections
7. Complete all post-shipment documentation
8. Drive all commercial vehicles on contract.
9. Primary operator of the government pump truck and Alutiiq oil truck.
10. Responsible for vehicle, forklift, and other weight handling equipment inspections.
11. Complete requests for acceptance, pick up, confirmation of requests, receiving of and processing of hazardous waste at the HWSTF and satellite areas
12. Perform housekeeping and maintenance, if necessary
13. Report all issues with the equipment to the HWSTF Manager
14. Input received HW disposal requests into NAWS China Lake HW database
15. Provide administrative and technical support to HWSTF customers
16. Complete delivery orders and prepare shipping documentation for off-station shipments
17. Coordinate contract service deliveries
18. Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 1. Must be physically able to bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
2. Forklift operations experience preferred.
3. Inventory experience preferred.
4. Must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance within ninety (90) days of hire and maintain clearance for duration of employment.
5. Current DMV printout will be required.
6. Must be able to pass and maintain a certified DMV medical examination.
7. High school diploma
8. Two years of experience in HW handling
9. Completion of 24 or 40 hour HAZWOPR course (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120)
10. CA commercial Class B drivers license with Hazardous Material, Tanker and Air Brakes endorsement
11. Government license material handling equipment for forklift
