The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist who is passionate about providing exceptional customer service. The Payroll Specialist will manage all payroll functions for our diverse team of more than 3,000 exempt and non-exempt associates. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient with the Workday platform and possess a deep understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and best practices.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for 3000+ exempt and non-exempt associates using the Workday platform.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll calculations, including regular pay, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Knowledgeable in required payroll reports and filings, including but not limited to tax withholdings, unemployment insurance, and other statutory requirements.
  • Stay updated on changes to payroll legislation and ensure company policies align.
  • Manage and process garnishments, leaves of absences and employment verifications.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data within the Workday system.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and in compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees regarding payroll inquiries.
  • Liaise with HR, Finance, and other departments to resolve payroll-related issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the payroll function.
  • Create, update, and evaluate document workflow and work procedures.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field
  • 3+ years of payroll experience, with a significant portion spent using Workday
  • Proficient in both Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Preferred experience with Human Resource Information Systems
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience processing payroll for a large, multi-state company
