Performs routine maintenance and repair services in more than one craft such as electrical, carpentry, welding, plumbing, sheet metal, painting, and millwrighting. This position is more common in smaller facilities where the incumbent has adequate experience to do most of the work specific to that setting, but is supported by specialists or outside contractors as needed. Has a sound understanding of the maintenance history of the building, equipment, and other facilities to be maintained.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide mechanical troubleshooting, mechanical repair and mechanical knowledge to the Milton site.

Repair, rebuild or replace

  • mechanical, automated and control valves of various types such as ball, globe, butterfly, etc.
  • Pump and pump seal
  • Reactors seals and gaskets
  • Steam regulators and traps
  • Nitrogen regulators
  • Utility systems such as steam/boilers, nitrogen, compressed air and cooling towers


Perform and/or coordinate preventative maintenance per schedule and/or standards and procedures including internal and external vessel inspections, removing pressure safety valves and perform weekly, monthly and yearly PM's.

Develop and review related maintenance procedures. Ensure all work is thoroughly completed and in compliance with local/state/federal regulations and documented in SAP system including hours to complete each job.

Prepare material and cost estimates for work orders for both capital projects and maintenance. Work with Maintenance Inventory Coordinator to order parts and ensure specifications of equipment are correct. Order parts and supplies as necessary for jobs and department.

Review daily, weekly, monthly and yearly PM's and procedures and work with Maintenance Planner / Scheduler to improve frequency and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent or associates degree in a technical or mechanical field of study.
  • Related Experience: 3+ years' experience in a maintenance role or maintenance background.
  • Special Training or Competence: General knowledge of equipment, instrumentation, piping, electrical and mechanical systems, and basic troubleshooting skills. Forklift and man-lift operation can be trained after hiring.
  • Equipment/Software Skills: General computer knowledge in a Windows and MS Office environment. Previous experience in SAP or similar CMMS a plus.
