Job Description:

SUMMARY

Provide instruction of non-creditrecreational courses offered through the Athletics, Wellness & CommunityRecreation Department.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for providing instruction to students and community members
  • Responsible for developing and presenting the department with a curriculum that provides students with a full experience and is
  • structured to accommodate all fitness levels
  • Responsible for setting up and cleaning up after each class
  • Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience
  • Required CPR/first aid certifications
  • Ability to read, understand, and enforce safety procedures
  • Ability to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of the class

KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Possess basic knowledge of fundamental subject area concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to apply in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
  • Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population
