Position Title: AG Utility (Level 3, Level 2, Lead 1)

Locations: Lovell, WY

Position Overview

The Ag Utility is responsible for the maintenance of all pile ground equipment, heavy equipment, ventilation, and preventative maintenance of all equipment assigned to them. As well as helping other Ag maintenance employees with their pile grounds and equipment, and assist factory with any heavy equipment repair, maintenance, or transportation of equipment from factory to factory. With travel to/from receiving stations and factory sites (1 factory site and 14 receiving stations) regularly during April to November (average 50-70% of day). Travel will be 5% during December to April doing all equipment repair, rebuild and preventative maintenance.

  • Responsible for the maintenance of all pile grounds and equipment throughout pile ground consisting of but not limited to belt conveyors, screens, chains, sprockets, tracks, and bearings.
  • Responsible for welding, cutting, fabrication, setting equipment, and dismantling equipment.
  • Responsible for maintenance and repair of the pulp loader.
  • Responsible for rebuilding idlers/rollers for conveyors and rebuilding other equipment components.
  • Responsible for repair and maintenance of factory heavy equipment, as needed.
  • Responsible for using hand and power tools.
  • Able to work nights and weekends when needed.
  • Able to work in remote areas without direct supervision.
  • Actively communicates with Supervisor and all team members.
  • Requires multi-tasking, good organizational skills, and self-motivation.
  • Possess time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to respond to emergency repair situations.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Skill & Experience Requirements
  • Two years technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • CDL Class A Driver s license is required, with tanker and hazmat endorsements or willing of attaining within 6 months from date of hire.
  • Required to pass a welding certification for structural A.W.S.D1.1 vertical and overhead.
  • Oxy/acetylene cutting welding and fabrication skills.
  • Knowledge and troubleshooting experience with 480 voltage electrical system is preferred or must be willing to learn.
  • Forklift operations and training.
  • Loader operations and maintenance experienced.
  • Must complete NCCO crane certification (Montana only).
  • Crane operations and rigging experienced preferred or must be willing to learn.
  • Maintenance/Mechanical experience working on heavy equipment, conveyors, belts, tracks, bearings, sprockets, and electrical components.
  • Proven equipment trouble shooting skills and ability to complete repairs.
  • Friendly, results oriented, and collaborative.
Working Relationship:
  • Reports to the Ag Maintenance Supervisor
Employment Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years or older.
Leadership skills:
  • Must be able work well with a team and be self-directed.
Travel Requirements:
  • Daily to assigned pile grounds/locations (During April to September 20%; September to November 70%; December to April 5%) .
