Position: Procurement Specialist - Electronic Components
Location: On-Site Orlando / Maitland, Florida

Role Overview:
We seek a proactive and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our Operations team. This critical role focuses on the strategic and operational purchasing of electronic components essential for production and prototype development. The ideal candidate will excel in managing supply chain logistics, tackling part shortages, and negotiating with vendors to ensure electronic parts' timely and cost-effective delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and contract manufacturers to enhance supply chain collaboration and efficiency.
- Manage the entire procurement process, from generating quote requests to placing purchase orders and ensuring timely fulfillment.
- Proactively handle part shortages and navigate challenges related to long lead times and supply chain disruptions.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to strategize and implement long-term purchasing plans based on detailed sales forecasts and order analysis.
- Conduct regular market analysis to adapt procurement strategies in response to global market changes and technological advancements.
- Partner closely with Product Development and Engineering teams to forecast future component needs and manage the lifecycle of current parts, including end-of-life (EOL) considerations.
- Negotiate favorable terms and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Identify and recommend cost-reduction opportunities within the procurement process.
- Act as the primary liaison between vendors and internal teams, resolving order discrepancies and updating procurement systems accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, specifically with electronic components such as capacitors, resistors, and integrated circuits.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work in the defense and aerospace industry.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong familiarity with electronic component markets and manufacturing processes.
- Proficient in using ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains or SAP.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and procurement tracking.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to interact effectively across various departments.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
