This is entrance level professional and supervisory work in the City's recreation program. An employee in this class assists in planning, developing, and supervising year-round and seasonal recreation program activities for a City-wide program or at a community center. Works under the supervision of a senior Recreation Supervisor, with considerable latitude for creative and responsive recreation programming and leadership. Characteristic Work Assists in planning, developing, and directing year-round and seasonal recreation programs, classes of instruction and activities which will serve the needs and wants of the community. May work with a community center or with a City-wide recreation program. Assists in promoting community participation, not only in the activities themselves but in program planning and leadership, by meeting with neighborhood agencies, community organizations, school personnel, and local businesses.
