Job Summary:

The Procurement Manager is responsible for purchasing parts, components, and services to meet our project needs, and work with internal and external customers. They help negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts, and long-term contracts with suppliers as well as helping prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders. They will also be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory working with our project managers and plant managers in international locations. This role continually evaluates and analyzes supplier quotes, negotiates prices, maintains relationships with vendors, and ensures orders are delivered on time. They will help develop a buying strategy for the organization to follow. This candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision, and be excited by working in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment with a hybrid work schedule based from our Tampa office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Responsible for purchasing raw material, components, and outside services for the company

Responsible for negotiating procurement contracts with new and existing suppliers

Helping implement new policies for procurement that can increase company's value and purchasing power, and improve the purchasing processes across the organization working closely with Ops management and the financial team.

Identify, evaluate, and approve suppliers; coordinate supplier visit and audits

Negotiation contract terms which meet the needs of the company; manage cost, delivery, payment terms etc. within approval authority

Develop and utilize internal controls and processes to manage the flow of purchases

Analyze market and purchasing trends

Implement continuous improvement projects, such as Kanban systems, to improve efficiency of material movement and cost effectiveness of inventory on site

Development and implementation of a supplier scorecard process to monitor supplier performance on Quality, Delivery, and Cost

Responsible to ensure all operating plants are properly supplied with needed components in a the most cost-effective and time sensitive manner possible.

Work with Engineering and project management to prepare design and cost estimates for new systems during the bidding phase of new projects

Resolves invoice discrepancies with vendors, and maintains accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other data in the company ERP system.

Follows internal processes to set-up new suppliers and does compliance checks.

Must ensure the company follows all procurement and Trade compliance regulations and procedures.

Requirements

Qualification/Requirements:

Able to negotiate and procure supply contracts

Ability to communicate across a range of skill levels

Fluent in all common engineering tools, AutoCAD, PLC logic, Excel, Word, PP...

Ability to travel 10-20% of time to Caribbean countries and Latin America for supplier visits as needed

Ability to work both as an individual contributor and as a task manager to coordinate between engineering, plant managers, and finance to get supplier contracts in place

Ability to make presentations to a customer or engineering team

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in purchasing, procurement, or a similar field or commensurate experience is required
  • 5-7 related experience in purchasing and procurement functions is required
  • Previous experience sourcing new suppliers and negotiating pricing contracts
  • Experience utilizing an ERP system to manage PO's ( company currently utilizes IFS)
  • Multi-location company experience, or experience working with suppliers in a global organization is strongly desired.
  • Must have experience in procurement of engineered products as well as commodity components.
  • Familiarity with products the company routinely purchases including alloy and plastic piping, instrumentation and steel skids is strongly preferred.
  • Specific skills in purchasing and procurement Brackish Water reverse osmosis (BWRO) or Seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination industry experience is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communications are required.
  • Knowledge of Trade Compliance regulations and procedures
  • Project planning and project management skills highly desirable
