This position is a remote position that will be working in the Southern California (preferably Los Angeles) market.

SUMMARY:

Halliwell is looking for a passionate and experienced Forensic Architect to add to our growing and collaborative team. The ideal candidate will bring experience in Architect and Engineering skills.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site investigations of structures including roofs and building envelopes following failures
  • Collect and analyze data, including photographs, measurements, and witness statements, to determine the cause and extent of damage or failure
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting investigation findings, analysis results, and recommendations for corrective actions
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, architects, clients, peers, and other stakeholders
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members throughout the investigation and analysis process


KEY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor s degree in civil/structural engineering or architecture Master s degree preferred
  • 1-10 years of experience in forensic architecture and design
  • AIA or working towards AIA Certification
  • Knowledge of building envelope testing in accordance with ASTM, AAMA (Plus)
  • Willingness to travel and work in various environments, including construction sites, industrial facilities, and accident scenes
  • Willingness and ability to access and inspect, among others, attics, crawlspaces, roofs etc
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, Auto Cad (plus), Revit (plus)
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
