Junior Test Engineer


Job Details

As a Junior Test Engineer, you will provide test support to the manufacturing function.Responsibilities would include the identification of test fixture requirements both hardware and software and their design/implementation into the manufacturing process.The development and update of electronic test procedures for new product introductions and ECO changes.Provide direct hands-on support to manufacturing test, production, and design engineering personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Interface with both design and manufacturing staff to assist in identifying electronic test and assembly requirements ofnew and existing products
  • Design and assist designing of special test fixturing to support comprehensive test coverage of printed circuit boards and electromechanically assemblies
  • Construction and debug of special test fixtures
  • Assist development of all required software support for test fixtures
  • Prepare detailed test procedures and instructions
  • Support the deployment of special test fixtures and procedures to manufacturing and train personnel
  • Assessment of current test procedures and fixturing relative to quality improvement and throughput
  • Assist evaluation/justification of the purchase of necessary test equipment for the production floor
  • Provide direct production support to test personnel during the competent level debug of printed circuit boards and electromechanical assemblies
  • Interpret test results and perform failure trend and root cause analysis on new existing assemblies
  • Assist overseeing of test fixture construction and help resolve problems as they arise


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A JUNIOR TEST ENGINEER

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university.
  • Three to six years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
