Job Details
Provides transportation for adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Vehicle Operator ensures the safety of the vehicle for operations, assists ambulatory and wheelchair-bound individuals in entering and exiting the vehicle, and ensures individuals are properly seated and secured, providing assistance when required. The Vehicle Operator is responsible for regulating heat, lighting, radio, and the ventilation system for the comfort of vehicle passengers. The Vehicle Operator is responsible for maintaining daily transportation logs and written reports; as well as ensuring that the vehicle interior and exterior is clean.
Minimum Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 3 years' experience driving
- Previous experience working with people with intellection and developmental disabilities is helpful
Licensure/Certification
- Requires a clean Driver's License, Class B or C
- Prefer candidates that meet requirements for DOT & 19A certification
- Preference for CDL with P endorsement, but will train to get CDL within 6 months of employment
- Must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification
