New opportunity joining a growing Talent Acquisition and HR Department at a Chicago Law Firm!

Summary:

The Legal Recruiter will be responsible for managing the daily attorney recruiting and diversity processes for the Firm. This position will recruit attorney candidates, supporting a variety of Practice Groups, and support the Firm s DEI efforts, collaborating closely with the Practice Group Chairs and Firm Leadership to align and implement the Firm's strategic plans in both areas. The employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive materials and maintain strict confidentiality due to the nature of the position. This role requires someone with excellent planning, organization, and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

Attorney Recruiting

  • Recruiting Strategy
    Work with Practice Group Chairs, the Recruiting Partner, and Firm Leadership to ensure a consistent attorney recruiting process.

  • Candidate Sourcing
    Use databases and social media to find and recruit candidates.

  • Application Review
    Assist in reviewing applications and coordinating interviews.

  • Agency Relations
    Maintain relationships with recruiting agencies.

  • Tracking and Reporting
    Manage the applicant tracking system and generate reports.

  • Offer Letters
    Draft and review offer letters.

  • Recruiting Policies
    Manage and update recruiting policies and materials.

  • Inclusive Recruiting
    Promote a diverse and inclusive recruiting process.

  • Onboarding and Training
    Assist with onboarding and training for lateral associates.

Summer Associate Recruiting & Programming

  • Campus Interviews
    Support campus interview programs and maintain relationships with law school placement offices.

  • Candidate Evaluation
    Coordinate the evaluation and selection of candidates.

  • Outreach Activities
    Organize outreach activities with law students and Firm lawyers.

  • Summer Program
    Collaborate with the Summer Associate Partner to ensure successful onboarding and training for Summer Associates.

  • Engagement
    Connect and engage with Summer Associates transitioning to full-time roles and assist with their onboarding.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

  • DEI Implementation
    Coordinate activities to achieve the Firm s DEI goals, working closely with the DEI Committee.

  • Diversity Recruiting
    Lead diversity efforts in recruiting law students and lateral attorneys.

  • DEI Administration
    Manage DEI calendars, meetings, and event logistics.

  • Event Coordination
    Plan and organize DEI events and follow up on actions from these events and meetings.

  • Reporting
    Draft reports on DEI progress and outcomes.

  • Budget Monitoring
    Assist with budget management and funding requests.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Education
    Bachelor s degree required.

  • Experience
    3-5 years in attorney recruiting and/or DEI programming, preferably in a professional services environment.

  • Communication Skills
    Strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills.

  • Analytical and Organizational Skills
    Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills.

  • Independence and Teamwork
    Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team setting.

    Ability to drive results, meet competing deadlines, and handle sensitive matters confidentially.

  • Flexibility
    Willingness to adjust hours to meet business needs.

  • Technical Proficiency
    Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and experience with applicant tracking systems/SharePoint or willingness to learn new software programs.
