Position: Windows/Infrastructure Systems Admin

Location: Onsite in NYC, NY

Duration: Long-term contract

Overview:

Need Windows Server and Windows desktop exp - Active Directory - Basic DHCP / DNS / Routing concepts. Scripting. 8+ years exp.

Must have a valid driver s license and ability to travel between locations


Job Description:

  • The ideal candidate is well organized, detail-oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments, and meets deadlines with a safe mindset.
  • This individual must also exercise good judgment and render sound business decisions.
  • The applicant should possess strong oral and written communication skills and be able to produce documentation on solutions and system design. Bachelor s degree (preferably in Information Technology) with a minimum of 8 years of experience in IT Support.
  • The successful candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of various computing platforms from servers, networks, and storage including scripting experience for automation.
  • Must have the ability to lift/transport server equipment when needed. Must be able to provide off-hour, on-call support for a workstation, server, and other system-related issues that require travel to various supported sites.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime and be flexible with work hours to respond to emergencies or scheduled work that must be done either before or after normal business hours.
  • Must have the means and be able to travel to various Company locations.

Technical Skills:

  • Windows Server/desktop operating systems, user administration, file system, software, and services
  • Understanding of server and various storage RAID configuration
  • Active Directory management, including backup and recovery of the domain and GPO setup
  • Fundamental networking concepts and troubleshooting such as DHCP, DNS, Routing, and Firewall
  • Fundamental understanding of security principles, ACL, Encryption
  • Scripting: PowerShell, bash, ksh, or Perl for automating routine tasks
  • Experienced with monitoring system health and performance, able to provide statistics to identify bottlenecks and lead optimization efforts
  • Disaster recovery planning and ability to perform backup and restore for systems, applications, and data
  • Patch and firmware installation and management
  • Strong customer service mindset, providing plus-1 end-user support experience.
