I'm currently partnered with a multi-million dollar industry leading business within the logistics space. Located in the South Suburbs of Chicago and operating on a hybrid schedule, they are actively seeking to identify a Controller to join their team.

Reporting directly to the VP of Finance of their global, multi-billion dollar parent organization within logistics space, this individual will have full ownership of the accounting function for their multi-million dollar business unit, while managing a team of 5+ individuals. In addition, you will have the ability to make an immediate impact by driving process improvements within the team. The VP of Finance is looking for someone who is strong in the manufacturing or logistics industry, who can be their right-hand person and thrive in the growth they are experiencing

Description

  • Coordinate month, quarter, and year-end closing processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Coordinate and oversee the annual external audit process, including the preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Liaisons with internal and external auditors, ensures compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Standards
  • Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll regulations to ensure compliance with tax laws, wage and hour laws, and other relevant regulations.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.

Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or MBA a plus
  • Manufacturing, logistics, or distrubtion experience
  • ERP Experience
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently
  • Desire to continue to grow through continuing training and development
  • Strong attention to detail
