What will you do as the Vice President of eCommerce?

POSITION SUMMARY


The VP of Ecommerce will own and manage the entire digital consumer experience at HOMAGE. They will act as the senior product leader, creating a vision for how customers will engage with HOMAGE.com, and building new features to make that vision come to life. We want to set the standard for digital experiences in the apparel space. The ideal candidate won't be afraid to push the boundaries of UX, e-commerce best practices, and digital capabilities.

Day-to-day, this leader will also take ownership of conversion rate optimization, looking for the biggest opportunities, and setting in motion plans to capture them. This person will also facilitate back-end tasks with our Web Operations team, which include setting up new products, updating web content, integrating with 3rd party tools, and setting up promotions.

Strong candidates will have experience in digital product management, e-commerce strategy, and leading development resources (insourced our outsourced). This person will be excited to own both the technical and business aspects of e-commerce. This person have shown that they can effectively collaborate with business partners (e.g., Marketing, Operations, etc.) to build solutions that deliver the company's goals.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Set a long-term vision for HOMAGE's digital customer experience
  • Create a product roadmap aligned with the leadership team, and execute along with internal team and agency support
  • Improve site conversion rate and AOV by prioritizing key opportunities, facilitating development of solutions, implementing experiments to demonstrate results, and then building winning solutions into the site
  • Oversee the eCommerce team in performing all day-to-day site merchandising and operations


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Set a long-term vision for HOMAGE's digital customer experience
  • Envision big opportunities to bring storytelling to the forefront of our experience, highlight HOMAGE's unique products, and facilitate a seamless purchasing experience
  • Review patterning from world-class sites, as well as break the mold with ideas unique to HOMAGE
  • Lead discussions with the leadership team to prioritize opportunities and set long-term goals for the eCommerce team

Create and execute a product roadmap
  • Obsess over the customer journey, mapping out the path customers take from start to finish, and identifying areas that could be made more fluid or intuitive
  • Optimize the process customers can use to discover our broad catalog of products
  • Identify new technology and apps which can be used to improve the web experience and site speed
  • Collaborate with peers in Marketing & Product to understand upcoming activations, and use that knowledge to identify features to support those activations
  • Boil all priorities into annual and quarterly roadmaps
  • Involve leadership team, eCommerce team, and agency advisors, to align on priorities and timelines
  • Develop and run an efficient and impactful development sprint process with agency partners, and internal developers in the future
  • Hold development teams accountable for quality and timelines

Optimize conversion rate and profitability on the site
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities that increase conversion rate and/or basket size
  • Inform recommendations with website analytics and customer feedback
  • Build and execute a roadmap of changes, integrated with broader product roadmap
  • Set goals and report progress and performance against goals to the leadership team

Lead the eCommerce team in performing all day-to-day site operations
  • Provide guidance and feedback to the Web Operations team, who complete product launches and day-to-day web merchandising
  • Oversee our 3rd party web development agency
  • Manage the digital ecosystem and negotiate contracts with vendors & third-party solution
  • Coach and complete annual performance reviews for direct reports


Qualifications

What are we looking for in a Vice President of eCommerce?
  • 10+ years in eCommerce or Product Management
  • Experience leading a ground-up development of an ecommerce site that set new standards of excellence in a category
  • Strong technical understanding to guide UX and engineering resources towards optimal solutions
  • Expertise in quantitative and qualitative website analysis & research
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to build teams, hold teams accountable, and meet deadlines
  • Thoughtful and self-reflective, willing to learn
  • Team-player, hard-working, organized, and goal-oriented
  • Excitement for high-growth businesses and building from the ground up

This is a full time role that can be held from our Columbus office or remotely in the United States. Travel will be required as needed, which could be up to once per month. Employees living in the Columbus area are required to work in-person 2 days per week.
