Young Living is looking for a high energy, self-motivated, and hard-working distillery operator. Under the supervision of the distillery manager, the distillery operator will be responsible for assisting the distillery operator team lead with all functions of the distillation process, running daily samples of essential oil during harvest, running test cooks throughout the year, as well as the daily cleaning and maintenance of the lab and its equipment. The ideal candidate thrives in team environments and represents the Young Living brand in action during agricultural tourism events.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Google Drives

Basic knowledge of algebra and geometry

Ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment, such as wheel loader, skid steer, forklift, and dump truck

Knowledge of farm procedures

Ability to adhere to all safety guidelines and requirements

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use manual dexterity to handle, feel, and operate objects, tools and controls, and reach with hands and arms. This individual is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file and lift office supplies, as well as containers with oil up to 60 pounds. The employee must be physically able to tolerate the scent of essential oils worn or diffused. The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities.

Safety Requirements

Employee is required to understand proper safety procedures before operating any equipment. Employee may be required to be certified to use equipment. Employee may be required to wear appropriate OSHA safety gear.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position requires shift work. The regular schedule is from 8 am - 4 pm. During harvest season this position may be required to work longer than regular schedule. Regular schedule may change occasionally to accommodate weather, and operational deadlines/goals. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
