Position: Quality Manager Aerospace

Location: New Hampshire (Note: This position requires a candidate to be on-site daily).

Position Overview:

As a Quality Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of our client's innovative products. Reporting to the Global Quality Director, who brings over 10 years of experience to the role, you will join a collaborative team of three Quality Managers. Your peers are located in France and Mexico, and you will engage with them regularly to share insights and strategies. Management Focus

  • Lead a dedicated team of 8 professionals, including 4 Quality Engineers, 1 Quality Supervisor (who managed 15 Quality Technicians), 1 Manufacturing Supervisor (managing 3 quality leads), 1 Calibration Technician, and 1 NDT Team leader (managing 1 engineer and 1 technician).
  • Foster strong relationships with customers, adeptly navigating and resolving any quality-related issues.

Compensation

  • Base Salary Target: $125-135K (possible to go higher for candidates who exceed all requirements)
  • 4% Annual Bonus Target which has exceeded the "target" 6 out of the past 7 years

Primary Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborative Leadership: Work with the facility leadership team to ensure seamless product delivery, address quality audits and documentation concerns, and drive root cause/corrective action activities. Manage and enhance the RCCA process with comprehensive, auditable documentation, requiring DMAIC/Six Sigma expertise.
  • Team Development and Continuous Improvement: Lead and coach quality engineers and quality supervisors, integrating lean principles and a continuous improvement mindset across production and inspection processes. Support Value Streams and development activities, utilizing NPI processes where necessary.
  • Quality System and Regulatory Compliance: Own the quality system requirements using SAP's QM module and ensure adherence to all aerospace regulatory standards (AS9100, ISO, FDA, NADCAP). Develop quality system architecture and ensure team training and compliance.
  • Material Review and Non-Conformance Management: Oversee the MR/MRB process with the Supply Chain to identify and address non-conforming materials. Collaborate with Engineering and Supply Chain to resolve issues and implement quality improvements, targeting zero defects and tracking key quality metrics.


Primary Position Requirement:

  • Education: A BS in Engineering (ideally Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing) or Statistics is required. MS Engineering or MBA is preferred. ASQC certification is preferred. LSSGB/LSSBB certification is preferred.
  • Manufacturing Experience: 3-5+ years of career experience as a Quality team member within a regulated manufacturing environment is required.
  • Management Experience: 3 years of experience directly managing a team of Quality reports within a regulated manufacturing environment is required.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Experience in regulatory compliance within highly regulated markets is required, with a strong preference for candidates with Aerospace Manufacturing (AS9100) experience.
  • Quality Management Systems: An in-depth understanding of Quality Management Systems is essential.
  • Statistical Analysis: Proficiency in statistical analysis, including test methodologies, conducting investigations, analyzing trends, and compiling statistical data on non-conformances and processes, is required.
  • Global Collaboration: Experience working in a global organization with regular collaboration with international peers is highly preferred.
  • Customer Interaction: Strong customer-facing experience and effective communication skills are required. This includes the ability to navigate, communicate, and resolve customer issues, as well as delivering strong customer presentations.
  • Problem Solving and Leadership: Proven experience leading cross-functional teams through deep problem-solving processes, documenting findings, and presenting results to customers is required.
  • Project Management experience: Demonstrating the use of tools is required.
  • Systems Proficiency: Experience with Minitab, MS Office Suite, SAP, CMM-related programs, and other relevant software systems is required.
  • Travel: Minimal domestic and international travel required < 10% annually.
