About this opportunity:

Oversee the counseling needs of the Residential Reentry Center participants as required by the Federal Bureau of Prisons Statement of Work and Salvation Army objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in weekly program participant staffing providing any information, suggestions and recommendations to staff that would be in the best interest of the program participant or program.
  • Participate in the program participant's disciplinary process, serving in the capacity of reporter, investigator, or staff representative, as required.
  • Visit program participants' place of employment and legal residence to ensure environment is conducive to Program Plan, as required.

What we are looking for in you:
  • Four-year degree in a social, human services, criminal justice, or behavioral science program from an accredited AND
  • At a minimum, one year of experience must be working in human services, corrections, or community-based services. OR
  • Work experience must be substituted for academic studies exchanging one year of work experience for one year of academic education. Total work experience needed in lieu of the combination of education and work experience is five years.


  • Must be at least 21 years of age.


  • Must have a valid state driver's license.


  • CPR and First Aid certification.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
