WHAT WE'LL OFFER YOU...
The wastewater operator is primarily responsible for operating and maintaining wastewater primary screening (offal) and pre-treatment equipment.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...
- Operate and maintain full treatment system, including a 10 million gallon anaerobic lagoon with gas collection system
- Operate and maintain4.5 million gallon sequencing batch reactor (SBR), and two 4 million gallon holding ponds
- Operate and maintain35 acre land application system and two discharge outlets
- Operate and interpret results for pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity and spectrographic analytical equipment, sampling as required by National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit and policy
- Maintain and perform basic maintenance on pumps, motors, aerators, air compressors, pneumatic auxiliaries, hydraulically driven equipment, belt and chain drive systems, digital and analog controllers and sensors, irrigation, plumbing and electrical components
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TEAM... - High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience
- Ability to read, speak, and write fluent English
- Basic organization skills
- Ability to maintain operation logs
- Basic maintenance and electrical wiring skills
- Occasional general painting, grounds keeping and housekeeping skills
- Forklift, tractor, crane and other heavy equipment operation experience preferred
- Algebraic level mathematical skills
- Ability to communicate operational status of treatment system
- All other relevant tasks as required
THE ENVIRONMENT YOU CAN EXPECT... - Occasionally climb ladders and steep inclines
- Occasionally lift 70 lbs
- Periodically work in hazardous, unhygienic environments
- Work in outdoor conditions (all seasons of the year)
- Work in slippery, wet environment
- Use of pesticides, chlorine based disinfectants, and herbicides
- Occasionally enter confined spaces
- Make accurate observations of treatment system based on visual, mechanical, or analytical data, responding to information using critical thinking skills while making educated decisions
