Job Purpose

To prioritize BBC Studios' social advertising proposition to markets across the Americas, delivering social advertising revenues across the BBC Studios global portfolio and lead a best in market Partner Sales team.

Who We Are Looking For

An experienced, New York based senior level social salesperson who has sold social advertising directly to agencies and advertisers.
This role will suit a self-starter who wants to hone the commercial strategy and ongoing market presence of the BBC Studios Partner Sales offering for the USA, Canada and Latin America.
The individual will have excellent relationships with key media agencies and advertisers that buy social advertising directly from media owners as well as a proven track record in delivering significant social ad revenues.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Implement the commercial strategy for the BBC Studios social advertising offering
  • Lead the go-to-market strategy of BBC Studios social advertising in the US, Canada and Latin America.
  • Grow BBC Studios social advertising revenues via YouTube Partner Sales and other platforms
  • Target agencies and clients to buy social advertising directly from BBC Studios
  • Manage the sales pipeline, forecasting and reporting to the VP East Coast Sales
  • Responsible for insights and guidance on the BBC Studios ratecard for social advertising and sponsorships
  • Develop BBC Studios positioning and social advertising packages
  • Deliver against quarterly and annual revenue targets
  • Ensure all advertising campaigns adhere to BBC Studios Advertising Guidelines
  • Work the Ad Ops team in successful delivery and measurement of all campaigns
  • Key contributor to the Social AVOD commercial strategy across BBC Group, partnering with critical areas of the business
  • Support the VP, East Coast Sales on identifying new revenue opportunities on all platforms in which we operate


Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

  • A successful track record in selling social advertising/partner sales for a media owner/network, particularly YouTube
  • Proven experience in building and leading successful sales teams
  • Excellent knowledge of the social advertising market and all social trading metrics
  • Strong contacts at US media agencies/clients responsible for buying social advertising including social, digital, AV and trading teams
  • Excellent working knowledge of Google Ad Manager
  • Possess a strong understanding of the Social AVOD sector, platforms, and BBC competitors
  • Excellent cross-collaboration and stakeholder management skills, able to build rapport, be credible, and be trusted while developing/maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Knowledge of BCAP and KidVid regulations or experience selling advertising within children's content.
  • Outstanding communication skills both written, oral, and presentation.
  • Able to collaborate across organizational boundaries, embrace change, and improve working practices.
  • Global mindset: thinking and acting for both local and global needs
  • Self-starter with the ability to see projects through to completion, problem solve, and multi-task under time constraints
  • Previous experience with negotiating and delivering against trading deals


Compensation

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $155,000 to $175,000. This range does not include bonus compensation or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and geographic location of the position.

This range is not inclusive of a competitive bonus, flexible, hybrid working schedule & benefits including but not limited to: 100% BBCS covered medical & dental insurance, vision, & 401k match.
