24-25 Martha O'Bryan Center Recreation Specialist

Martha O'Bryan Center is an anti-poverty non-profit organization located in East Nashville. With longstanding history and deep community roots, Martha O'Bryan Center (MOBC) operates programs supporting education goals for learners of all ages, empowers youth and adults in their careers, and provides stability and support services for families. Hours: 10 am - 6:30 pm AmeriCorps members at MOBC get an additional $500/month for a housing allowance! Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and organize assigned recreation activities in the areas of sports, fitness, instructional classes, or recreation programs, events, and activities Recruit, train, schedule, and oversee a variety of personnel and volunteers Promote recreational programs, prepare class and schedule information, and market using brochures, social media, etc.; assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive and consistent marketing plan for recreational offerings Observe and monitor the quality of programs, events, and classes Prepare and control equipment inventory and stock deliveries Order, inspect, and maintain recreation equipment and materials Maintain records and develop reports concerning new or ongoing programs and program effectiveness; prepare reports as required Oversee and schedule usage of assigned facilities; provide information and assistance to users of facilities; explain policies, rules, and regulations of facility use; monitor and inspect assigned facilities after use Respond to requests and inquiries from the general public; provide information regarding assigned recreational program area; analyze clients' inquiries and help determine steps necessary to resolve issues Enter program participants' attendance into Salesforce Participate in AmeriCorps professional development and community-building workshops You can read more about AmeriCorps at MOBC here:
