Job Summary:

We are seeking a Contracts and Procurement Manager to play a pivotal role in overseeing procurement, contracting, and supply chain operations for solar energy projects' development and construction. This role will involve sourcing, negotiating, contracting, and managing the procurement of solar equipment and materials to ensure efficient and cost-effective project execution.


Responsibilities:

  • Identify, assess, and evaluate potential suppliers of solar equipment such as panels, inverters, mounting systems, and related materials.
  • Evaluate potential suppliers of Engineer, Procure, and Construct (EPC) services for solar balance of system, substations, switchyards, and transmission and distribution lines.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to uphold a dependable supply chain.
  • Lead the sourcing process from RFI to contract execution.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and contracts with suppliers, covering pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
  • Analyze and manage the cost structure of solar projects, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency enhancement.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations in the solar industry.
  • Develop strategies to minimize procurement costs while ensuring high quality standards.
  • Establish and enforce quality control measures for incoming materials and equipment.
  • Address any quality issues with suppliers and drive continuous improvement in product quality.
  • Optimize the supply chain to reduce lead times and streamline procurement processes.
  • Ensure compliance of all procurement activities with relevant laws and regulations, including environmental standards and import/export requirements.
  • Stay informed about industry regulations and certification requirements.
  • Prepare RFPs, manage bid schedules, and evaluate vendor proposals to achieve competitive pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage contracts, including administration, change management, and dispute resolution.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certification is advantageous.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related role, with a focus on solar energy projects.Comprehensive knowledge of solar technologies, equipment, and industry trends.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement fundamentals and contract drafting principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and software such as Procore.
