Responsibilities Tool/Mold Maker Journeyperson:
- Planning and Building a variety of components to be used in the mold tool design with tight tolerance machining
- Read and interpret blueprints and maintain accuracy of +/- 0.001' when required
- Input on Tooling Design towards manufacturing feasibility with Engineering Staff
- Aid and Input to CNC and EDM staff tasks to meet the requirements of the tool
- Analyze Blue Light Inspection reports with Engineering to fulfill the requirements of the tool
- Help direct the build of the tooling to meet the customer's due date
- Operation of the Wax Press Injection System and troubleshooting of injection problems
- Follow common safety procedures and good house keeping
- Continuous Improvement Input
Qualifications/Requirements Tool/Mold Maker Journeyperson:
- 3 10+ years Core/Wax Die/Mold Building at a high degree of precision/tolerance required
- 3 10+ years of Journeyman mold maker experience required
- High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent
- Apprenticeship program completed
- Basic math skills and ability to read mold design prints
- Common Tool Room Equipment Experience: Knee Mills, Bed Mills, Lathes, Grinders, Drill press etc.
- Common Measurement Tools Experience: Calipers, Indicators, Depth Mics etc.
- Good communication skills
- Effective coordination with peers
- Strong time management and an independent work mindset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and accuracy
- Basic computer skills
- Fit Mold for final assembly with minimal supervision
