Job Summary: The duties necessary to keep the physical structure and grounds of the hospital in good repair. The Groundskeeper will perform grounds maintenance, including mowing, snow removal, and all other associated grounds maintenance tasks.
Essential duties:
- Operate standard hand and small power tools.
- Operation of grounds power equipment such as tractors, power mowers, trimming tools, and other associated equipment. Also, light maintenance thereof including cleaning of the same, checking, adding and changing of oil and other minor maintenance.
- Will provide transportation of equipment and supplies inside and outside of facility, using moving equipment and hospital vehicles. Will also move furniture and other equipment.
- Operation of hospital vehicles including pick-up truck and light maintenance thereof, including washing, waxing, checking oil level, changing tires, and other minor maintenance as required.
- Snow removal services, including operation of snow blower, shoveling of hospital sidewalks and entrance ways, sanding, and salting of traffic areas, and other related functions.
- Assist Maintenance personnel in the performance of their duties, when needed.
- Familiarity of hospital infection control procedures as related to tasks performed.
- Follow established safety methods and procedures as outlined in organizational and department policies with few or no incidents or exceptions as needed.
- Promote safe practices consistently with no exceptions.
- Attend required safety programs as outlined in policy Annually Required Training Programs.
- Complies with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
