The Opportunity


Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing, L.P. is seeking an experienced Commodity Manager to join our Procurement team at our DTTP - Waller, TX location. In this role, you will identify and engage with our Corporate Functions group to better understand commodity requirements and ensure supply base is aligned. Responsible for development and execution of commodity strategy. Will conduct or support negotiations and supplier selection.


To be successful in this role, you will have a supply chain background with at least 3 years of indirect procurement experience.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Responsible for development and execution of commodity strategies.
  • Accountability to provide analytical support in all commercial negotiations and supplier selections within assigned commodities.
  • Provide direction and guidance amongst a team of buyers.
  • Maintain ownership of supplier relationships, including performance monitoring, and will manage execution of SRM reviews.
  • Will track and drive dual sourcing initiatives for supplier risk mitigation efforts.
  • Responsible for execution and reporting of supplier contracting initiatives.
  • Support director as required on developing commodity strategy documents, and 3 to 5-year growth playbook plans.
  • Responsible for weekly executive reporting on all financial cost down projects for assigned commodities.


Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Indirect procurement experience preferably supporting corporate stakeholders such as HR, IT, Finance/Accounting, etc.
  • Mid-level commodity management experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proven leadership skills employee development, goal setting, performance development, employee engagement.
  • Demonstrated negotiation experience relationship management skills vendor management.


Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree; preferably in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a commodity management, or strategic sourcing role.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role
