POSITION SCOPE
Form Setter will be responsible for aligning forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters, patching voids, and using saws to cut contraction joints. Additionally, you will construct, erect, install, and repair forms and fixtures of wood or plywood using carpenter's hand tools and power tools. On the jobsite you will be part of a team and will learn all aspects of concrete prep work, placement, finishing, flatwork, and paving. PAY RANGE
$30/hr DOE. Prevailing Wage applicable on federal work.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Set and align steel and wood forms
- Erect and build wood forms for minor structures
- Mold expansion joints and edges.
- Produce rough concrete surface with broom.
- Direct subgrade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of forms.
- Break up and repair old concrete surfaces.
- Clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials.
- Spread concrete into inaccessible sections of forms with rake or shovel.
- Level concrete to specified depth and workable consistency using hand-held screed and floats, bringing water to the surface to produce a soft topping.
- Smooth and shape surfaces of freshly poured concrete.
- Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces and patch holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound
- Assist other craft workers.
- Other duties as assigned
BACKGROUND
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Will need to pass a full background check and drug test to work on a government job.
- Experience in concrete demolition, earthwork, finishing subgrade, and underground PVC pipe work is preferred.
- Prevailing wage rates will be paid according to job specifications.
