Major responsibilities
Reconcile the Ace statement
Complete all payables for store manger's or owner's approval
Send all receivables to outstanding accounts
Coordinate all insurance issues, health, dental, state, federal and workman's compensation
Submit all background checks for pre-employment
Verify that all paperwork is submitted with each new hire and file according to computer guidelines
Post all law posters and company policies
Reconcile all cash tills for cash over and shorts for cashiers and record deposits for store manager
Prepare and close the payables, receivables, and daily sales for posting to the general ledger or the accountant
Print all price changes through hotsheets
Ensure data accuracy within the store system (Quantity-on-hand, dollar accuracy, descriptions)
Ensure adequate inventory levels to minimize outages
Manage Computer Suggested Order process
Develop and enhance receiving process
Train store staff on inventory management best practices
Develop and monitor inventory management reports
Implement and maintain location codes
Oversee introduction of new items to store mix
Monitor shrinkage and recommend ways to reduce theft and breakage in the store
Identify obsolete inventory and determine how to best remove it
Ensure each customer receives outstanding service which follows the S.A.L.E.S process and by mystery shop standards
Greet customers as they enter the store
Troubleshoot point of sale problems
Effectively train and direct the activities of cashier assigned to the front end and set the standard for customer service
Ensure that associates assigned to the front-end consistently follow all policies and procedures including established merchandise is properly labeled
Answer phone calls
Able to tactfully and pleasantly deal with customers
Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements
Perform register sales transactions quickly and accurately in accordance with established cash control procedures and customer service guidelines
Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by store management
Solicit customers to open and Ace Rewards card
Requirements
Education/Training: High school degree, some college preferred. Strong familiarity of general office administration
Experience in a retail environment either in marketing, sales, or back office
Skills/knowledge: Proficient in Microsoft Windows, MS Word, Excel, and other computer software
Knowledge of computer retail systems and electronic cash registers a plus
Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business
