Boiler Operator

The Boiler Operator assists with power plant operations in a safe and efficient manner.

To oversee the Powerplant operations in a safe and efficient manner including: water filtration systems and a natural gas boiler,while supporting our high standards of safety, housekeeping, quality, and productivity.

What You Will Do

  • Maintains, records and e-mails daily reports for power plant safety, environmental and boiler production
  • Maintains and publishes data entry reports on Capstone
  • Operates and makes rounds to check all PP and mill main feeder breakers
  • Operates and makes rounds to check Air Compressors
  • Operates and makes rounds to check all P.P. PRV and Vent Valves
  • Monitors capstone trending of Boiler
  • Monitors and maintains RO system or softeners as needed
  • Regenerates all Zeolite filters as needed
  • Completes daily water, condensate and effluent testing and reports results
  • Completes environmental testing and recording for daily/ monthly NPDES requirements as needed
  • Makes appropriate chemical additions to boiler make-up water as needed
  • Monitors deep wells, completes rounds and collects and records data as needed
  • Monitors Ash Pit and Ash Lagoons. Maintains level, TSS and Ph as required as needed
  • Cleans within the power plant as required
  • Work in a safe manner, while wearing required PPE
  • Operate machinery and industrial equipment
  • Work around moving process equipment
  • Accurate reading of tape measures, gauges, and other test equipment
  • Utilize basic math skills
  • Use basic computer skills to retrieve and enter data
  • Train and re-train as position requirements are modified
  • Operate mobile equipment


Who You Are
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have active Ohio Boiler Operator's License
  • Experience working in an industrial environment preferred
  • Experience working with a gas boiler
  • Desire to work in a team based environment
  • Ability to safely perform tasks in a fast paced, heavy industrial environment
  • Ability to stand, reach, and twist in a heavy industrial environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders, walk distances, work at heights on platforms, work in tight or closed spaces
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
