Job Details

(a) provides mental wellness services to all Head Start children in form of prevention, intervention and treatment; (b identifies, assesses and treats Head Start children and families for emotional/behavioral disorders through the Head Start program; (c) provides consultation to teachers, staff and parents.Qualifications: Master's degree in Mental Health, or Psychology, or Special Education with severe emotional/ behavioral disturbances endorsement from accredited University. Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credentials issued by the Texas Board of License. Ability to identify, assess and provide appropriate educational treatment plans for children with emotional/behavioral challenges by using standardized evaluation instruments. Ability to train staff/parents on challenging emotions/behaviors and management techniques. Emotional/Behavioral disorders endorsement. Four years of experience working with preschool children with various disabilities including emotional and behavioral disorders in a classroom setting and counseling.
