Summary
Facilitate logistics and all transportation needs to ensure the retail stores, attended donation centers, and Mission Services receive the needed goods, services, and products.
Essential Job Functions
- Plan transportation routes and dispatch drivers to provide deliveries and pick-ups of merchandise and other goods for the retail stores, donation centers, and Mission Services
- Direct warehouse operations to ensure safe, organized, efficient logistical operation.
- Supervise a staff of Retail Associates, Dock Workers, CDL Drivers, and Dock Supervisors. Participate in hiring, training, evaluation and corrective action as needed. Plan work schedules to meet the logistical needs of Retail.
- Complete reports of transportation details for VP Donated Goods Retail and others.
- Ensure clean, organized, safe working environment on a daily basis.
Ancillary Job Functions - Help load and unload trucks at warehouse. Provide physical labor to move and organize the items.
- Ship product to each location to ensure each store and site receives the necessary merchandise.
- Maintain salvage operations and ensure shipments are processed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Responsible for all warehouse and transportation operations in the absence of the Manager of Logistics & Aftermarket Sales.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional college or technical school coursework is preferred.
- A minimum of three years experience in transportation, warehousing or related field. 1 year of direct supervisory experience.
- Experience with private fleet management.
- Must have forklift certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide.)
- Computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook.)
- Knowledge of operating a forklift.
- Clear verbal communication skills and ability to give and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions.
- Ability to use good judgment and think quickly and rationally in difficult or stressful situations.
Work Environment - Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
- Exposed to loud noise levels.
- Subjected to varying, inclement outdoor weather conditions.
- Will work near moving mechanical parts and in potentially dangerous physical situations.
